Morgan Bates

CNSI

Morgan completed her undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 2010. She bravely moved north to earn her Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Marc Hillmyer at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities where she studied and implemented the self-assembly of block polymers for separations, ionically conductive electrolytes, and metal oxide patterning in thin-films. Following her Ph.D., Morgan sought a more temperate climate and joined the Hawker research group at UCSB in November 2016 as a post-doctoral researcher. She progressed to the role of Assistant Director for Technology for the Dow Materials Institute in April 2018.
